Installing Xfinity Stream on Roku

Xfinity Stream has an app available on the Channel Store that is in Beta at the moment. It’s important to note that for the app to appear in your Roku’s channel store, it needs to be eligible. Before we proceed with the installation process, there are some requirements that you need to fulfill before starting out. The Roku device should have an 8.1 b1 or later firmware version. If you have over one linked Xfinity account, then you may need to set the default account first for you to be able to stream.

Firstly, make sure your Roku streaming device is connected to the TV and powered on. Also, connect it to the Wi-Fi and then press the home button on the remote to go to the channel store. On the home screen, click ‘Streaming Channels’ on the left pan and then click on the ‘Search Channels’ option on the next screen. In the search bar, type in ‘Xfinity Stream’ using the on-screen keyboard and select the ‘Xfinity Stream Beta’ app from the suggestions list. On the app page, click on ‘+ Add Channel’ to add it to your Roku. On the confirmation pop-up box, click on OK and finally click on the ‘Go to channel’ button to launch it.

Activating your Xfinity Stream

With the app installed, you need to activate if first to access it. Open the app and select the ‘Sign In’ option. An activation code will be displayed on your Roku-connected TV screen. On a different device like your phone or PC, open a web browser and then copy and paste this link in the address bar to visit the activation center. In the next web page, enter the 6-digit code on your TV screen and click on ‘Continue’. Enter your Xfinity ID and password and click on ‘Sign In’. To tell if the activation was successful, a success message will be displayed and your Roku streaming device will automatically update. Scroll through the Terms of Activation on Roku to read the terms. Next, click on ‘Yes’ to accept & continue. In case you click on ‘No’, then the activation process will restart.

of activation will vary. Click on Yes and Name your device. Click on ‘Confirm’ and you should see the main menu and start streaming content.
